A pneumothorax can occur spontaneously in a healthy individual or as a complication of trauma, a medical procedure, or COPD. Recent changes in practice guidelines for the management of pneumothorax in the ED allow for a more conservative and less invasive approach. This module will discuss the different types of pneumothorax and review their management.
