Approach to the Toxic Patient

WebPage_ApprchToxicWhat constitutes a poisoning?  Whenever an exposure to a substance adversely affects the function of any system within the body.  Unintentional injuries are the fourth leading cause of death in the province of Ontario.  After falls and motor vehicle accidents, poisonings are the third most common cause of unintentional injuries, although strictly speaking they may not always be unintentional.
