Chest pain is a common presenting symptom in the Emergency Department and accounts for approximately 5% of ED visits. A systematic approach is required to differentiate the life threatening causes from the less serious. This module will review the differential diagnosis for a patient presenting to the ED with chest pain, discuss diagnostic strategies, and summarize the management for various life threatening conditions.
